Charles Eames Stool / Table U.S.A.
early 1950s
This curious stool, with a walnut-veneer plywood seat / tabletop on a "dowel leg" base, may be a prototype or else an after-hours project by an Eames Office associate or Herman Miller employee. The "dowel leg" base (which swivels on a lazy Susan bearing) looks much like the base of the eponymous chair, but on closer inspection the mounting bracket appears to be of a different design, suggesting that this may well be an experimental or otherwise unique stool.
